31 Days of Difference
Take the 31 Days of Difference Challenge! Beginning August 1, 2016 be a force of encouragement and social change. For 31 days choose to make a difference in 1 persons life a day.
The word "august" means "having great importance and respect in society." It is time we stop waiting on others to make this world a better place. It is not the government's job to make our world better. It is up to every citizen of this nation to start doing their part. If we want civility, respect, and common courtesy to be pulled back from the brink of extinction it is up to each of us.
This can be done in simple ways.
Actually smile and positively engage people as you go about your day. Smile, ask them how they are and genuinely mean it. Make sure to tell them to have a wonderful day or evening. Make at least 1 positive comment about them: "you have a beautiful smile, that color looks nice on you, you are really good at your job, etc"
Perform an act of kindness like buying someone a cup of coffee, pay for someone's gas, let someone go before you in line, get out of you comfort zone to help someone.
Make an effort to go out of your way to meet someone and find out something about them. Ask questions, encourage, others, be present in your transactions.
To help with this I am donating the space the on this website as a repository for uplifting stories of personal encounters and even a place to get some ideas and how to make a difference.
